Bulgaria's Exports to EU in January-June Up by 10.3% Y/Y, Trade Deficit Remains

Between January and June, the exports of goods from Bulgaria to the EU increased by 10.3% from the same period of 2025, amounting to EUR 15,006,000,000. Bulgaria’s main trade partners were Germany, Romania, Italy, Greece and France, which accounted for 68.4% of the exports to the EU Member States. In the exports of goods from Bulgaria to the EU, the most notable growth was recorded in manufactured goods (44.9%). The most notable fall was reported in the miscellaneous manufactured articles (23.4%). In June, exports to the EU increased by 15.8% year-on-year, amounting to EUR 2,700,600,000. The imports of goods to Bulgaria from the EU in the period January-June 2026 increased by 6.3% in comparison with the same period of 2025 and amounted to EUR 15, 912,700,000 (at CIF prices). The largest amounts were reported for the goods imported from Germany, Romania, Greece, Italy and the Netherlands.
