Luke Humphries has revealed that he considered walking away from professional darts after suffering an anxiety attack which left him fearing his career was over. The world No 2 endured the frightening episode during a tournament in 2019, several years before he established himself as one of the sport’s leading players. Humphries, who has joined forces with the Samaritans to mark World Suicide Prevention Day, admitted the pressure of competing became so overwhelming that he questioned whether he could continue. "I just felt like my career was going to end and I almost thought about giving it up because the stress was playing on me a lot," the 31-year-old said.
