Michael Carrick’s brother handed new England coaching role

Michael Carrick’s younger brother, Graeme, has been appointed as an assistant coach of the England Under-17 side. The FA revealed their full coaching list for all of the Young Lions sides on Wednesday, confirming the set-ups. Graeme has secured a first coaching role since working alongside his brother Michael at Middlesbrough Carrick will be working under manager Barry Lewtas and alongside Matt Thorpe and Matt Doyle with the Under-17s. His role comes at an important time, as England’s youth team begin their bid for glory at the 2027 European Under-17 Championship. Qualifiers are set to kick off in November ahead of the tournament finals in Latvia next summer. In his new coaching role, Carrick will oversee the development of the country’s most promising talents, as he looks to guide them in their goal to one day represent Thomas Tuchel ‘s senior side.
