Xperia 1 VIII Android 17 update adds native desktop mode via DisplayPort Alt Mode, letting owners connect to any external monitor over USB-C with no proprietary dock required. Sony also revamps the AI Camera Assistant with up to three named custom presets, exclusive to the Xperia 1 VIII. Five Xperia models are eligible; rollout begins in Europe.
