Interior Minister Launches Little Big Heroes Initiative, Honours Youth for Acts of Bravery

Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev launched the "Little Big Heroes" initiative at a ceremony at the Interior Ministry on Tuesday, where he honoured children and young people for courageous and commendable acts. Demerdzhiev said that in recent weeks, young people in Bulgaria have drawn public attention for negative behaviour, while the Interior Ministry wants to highlight that many children uphold values worthy of respect and set a positive example. The ministry wants this positive example to take centre stage rather than negative behaviour that needs to be addressed, he said. "It is important for Bulgarian society to recognize that among young people in Bulgaria there are those who demonstrate civic courage and bravery and are willing to perform acts worthy of respect," the Interior Minister said.
