4,000 Pairs of Counterfeit Sports Shoes Impounded in Black Sea Raid

More than 4,000 pairs of sports shoes and other counterfeit goods bearing the names of well-known brands have been seized from retail outlets along Bulgaria's Black Sea coast during a special operation targeting counterfeit goods, the Ministry of Interior said on its official website on Sunday. Officers from the Cybercrime Directorate of the General Directorate Combating Organized Crime (GDCOC) carried out the fourth specialized operation aimed at protecting intellectual property in resort towns along the southern stretch of the coast. Officers identified retail outlets where counterfeit goods imitating well-known brands were being stored and offered for sale. More than 4,000 pairs of sports shoes and other items were found in the shops and their adjoining storage facilities. The goods were seized as an urgent measure, the Interior Ministry said.
