In his Aug. 27 commentary (“ Bernadette Wilson owes Alaskans more than a campaign pitch ”), Jim Brennan raises a number of questions regarding the candidacy of Bernadette Wilson for the governor’s seat. He offers scathing criticism of Wilson, questioning her elective office experience, her educational history, her marriage status and her business background. He even asks if she is actually Alaska Native, as she claims, and questions whether she is related to Gov. Hickel. Finally, Brennan wonders if Wilson blames Republican governors for downturns and “stagnation.” Obviously, Brennan is not a fan of Republicans and specifically Bernadette Wilson. Personally, I usually vote for Democrats, but not in all cases, i.e., Lisa Murkowski and Mary Peltola. For the ADN to give Brennan such an opportunity to denigrate a particular candidate seems over the top and deserves a view from the other side. It will be interesting to see if that happens soon, or not at all. — Mike Jens , Anchorage Have som
