For Adria Arjona , “ Star Wars ” has become one of those strange cases where the career disappointment ultimately looks more interesting than the victory she originally imagined. Years before Tony Gilroy cast her as Bix Caleen in “ Andor ” (read our review)—a character Arjona now considers meaningful enough to have permanently tattooed on her body—she came remarkably close to entering the franchise through a much more conventional doorway: playing Qi’ra opposite Alden Ehrenreich in “ Solo: A Star Wars Story .” Arjona had previously spoken vaguely about nearly landing a mysterious “Star Wars” project, but she finally filled in the missing pieces during Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused.” Yes, the role was Qi’ra, eventually played by Emilia Clarke .
