Fire Breaks Out at Solar Park Near Bobov Dol Power Plant

A fire broke out on Friday at a photovoltaic park opposite the Bobov Dol Thermal Power Plant, near the Kyustendil-Dupnitsa road, police spokesperson Katya Tabachka told BTA. No injuries have been reported, while the cause of the fire and the exact extent of the affected area have not yet been established. The fire initially spread through dry vegetation beneath the solar panels, which six firefighting teams are working to contain, assisted by employees of the Bobov Dol power plant. The blaze has damaged some of the solar panels, as the fire has not yet been contained, and crews are working to prevent it from spreading to nearby areas.
