Brooklyn man killed after being struck by MTA bus in Flatbush bus lane

A 58-year-old man was killed in Brooklyn after he was struck by an MTA bus in a bus lane near Nostrand Ave. and Clarendon Rd, according to the New York City Police Dept. The victim, wearing a red shirt, is seen to the right this MTA bus, which hit and killed the man after he then made contact with the bus Saturday in Brooklyn’s Little Haiti neighborhood. (Image: NBC New York) Police said the crash happened a little after 8:00 PM Saturday night. Video captured the man just seconds before he was struck in Brooklyn’s Little Haiti. Cameras from different angles showed the 58-year-old walking toward the bus. The NYPD said the man stepped off the sidewalk and somehow made contact near the back of the bus as it pulled away. The man was run over by the rear wheels. Jean Poinitdujour, who lives in the area, said the tragedy has left people shocked. “That’s a big accident.” “He was already on the ambulance when I got there, but I felt really sad,” said Mera Francois, who also lives in the area.
