Daniel Levy, 48, stabbed Abdul Kaleem Shaik, 41, in the neck at his home in Vauxhall before walking into Bishopsgate Police Station on January 1. Officers later found Shaik’s body on a makeshift bed inside the flat, before Levy admitted to murdering Shaik at the Old Bailey after initially denying the charge. He told police he had known Shaik for years and had allowed him to stay at his flat. During a police interview, Levy claimed Shaik had been struggling with his mental health and that he believed killing him would help secure his passage to heaven.
