Brother of Manchester airport thug sacked from GMP for gross misconduct

The brother of Mohammed Amaaz, Mohammed Abid, has been found to have committed racial discrimination alongside seven other officers. A hearing at Greater Manchester Police’s HQ found that the actions of PC Mohammed Abid, as well as PC Demi Green, PC Heena Rani, PC Lucy Granby, PC Matthew Barlow, PC Matthew Hill, former PC Jake Holt and former Officer A – who has been granted anonymity – amounted to gross misconduct. It also found that a further officer, Sergeant Adrian Bick's actions amounted to misconduct, as there was no breach of the standard of equality and diversity. The outcome is that six serving officers have been sacked without notice, while two former officers would have been dismissed had they not already left the force. Sergeant Bick was issued a written warning.
