Spoiler alert: They only really try when they can make the right look bad. Graham tabulated all of Politifact's checks between January 1 and August 2026, finding “the Democrats drew 37 “fact checks” and 14 were ‘Mostly False’ or worse (37.8 percent)” while the GOP received the same “‘Mostly False’ or worse” distinction “in 63 of 84 fact checks (75.0 percent).” Most notably, the number of GOP fact-checks in 84 to only 37 for Democrats belied the reality that these people only believe on political party could conceivably say things that are false.
