CEC Spokesperson Balova-Tsvetkova: Upgraded eProtocol App Set to Launch by End of September

An upgraded eProtocol app allowing voters to practise machine voting at home is expected to launch by the end of September, Central Election Commission (CEC) Spokesperson Stoyanka Balova-Tsvetkova said on Tuesday. The CEC began work on the upgrade two months ago, building on an app used during previous elections to help commission members practise completing tally sheets correctly. The upgraded app will include a machine-voting simulation that anyone can use on a phone at home, Balova-Tsvetkova said. It will also provide information on key deadlines, voting based on a current or permanent address, and applications to vote abroad. The section for election commissions will be expanded to include methodological guidelines and videos concerning commission work in the electoral process, Balova-Tsvetkova added.
