Election Commission Tells OSCE It Seeks to Strengthen Confidence in Voting Process

Bulgaria's Central Election Commission (CEC) stressed that it will work to strengthen confidence in the electoral process during a meeting with a Needs Assessment Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the CEC reported on Wednesday. The meeting focused on preparations for the Bulgarian presidential election on October 25. The CEC briefed the OSCE on the main activities undertaken so far to organize the upcoming election and said preparations are proceeding according to plan and in line with the adopted election timetable. The voter information campaign will have a broader reach and will target both voters in Bulgaria and Bulgarian citizens living abroad. A significant part of the campaign will rely on modern information and communication technologies, which will make information more understandable, accessible and engaging for citizens, the CEC said.
