Two bystanders, a woman who was fatally shot and a man who was wounded, were caught in crossfire while standing outside a home Tuesday night in Lockport Township. Will County sheriff's deputies were called about 7:55 p.m. to the 200 block of Dellwood Avenue in Lockport Township in reference to a shooting call, according to a statement from the sheriff's office. Deputies arrived on scene and found the two victims in a driveway, a 31-year-old woman and an adult male. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead and the male is expected to recover, according to the statement. Preliminary investigation shows the victims were merely bystanders who got caught in some sort of crossfire while they were standing outside, This remains an ongoing investigation and victim’s identity will be released by the Will County Coroner’s office.
