The trial of Iva Mihaylova, a citizen of both Bulgaria and North Macedonia who is charged with a serious road-traffic-safety offence over a fatal crash, will resume on September 28. At Monday's hearing, the Kocani Basic Court heard the final non-expert witness and began taking evidence from the first of three accident-reconstruction experts. The final non-expert witness was a police officer who was conducting a road-safety operation at the scene when the collision occurred. He testified that he did not see the collision but heard the impact. He also said that a vehicle stopped for a police check did not obstruct traffic. Zoran Joshevski, who prepared the prosecution-commissioned expert report, testified that, according to his analysis, Mihaylova’s car crossed about 90 centimetres into the oncoming lane, where the other vehicle was travelling. He said his analysis found no indication that the other vehicle had crossed into Mihaylova’s lane. His report is one of three before the court. H
