Belgian cyclist Rutger Wouters of Hemus Troyan won the fifth and final stage of the 73rd Tour of Bulgaria on Wednesday, while Antoni Muryj of Poland’s Mazowsze Serce team secured overall victory in the race. Wouters proved the fastest in the final sprint over the 111-kilometre route, which started and finished in the town of Troyan. He crossed the line ahead of Stefan Verhoeff of the Netherlands and Italy’s Riccardo Biondani. Muryj, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Wednesday, began the day wearing the yellow jersey as the race leader. The Polish rider finished safely in the main peloton, preserving his advantage and sealing first place in the general classification to claim the overall title.
