For months now, the Shaw's on Hyde Park Avenue in Hyde Park has had this huge pile of 2-for-$3 boxes of Dots near the registers that looked like somebody backed up with a Bobcat loader full of everybody's least favorite movie-theater candy and just dumped them out - along with a few boxes of some other stuff, Red Hots maybe, but all just jumbled up in a giant pile, forlorn and unloved and mostly unbought. But the other day, all the Dots were arranged in orderly line after orderly line, almost as if some manager finally couldn't take it anymore and screamed and then dropped whatever they were doing to arrange those damn boxes and end the chaos at the front of the store if it were the last thing they did.
