The Buffalo Bills have resigned a Super Bowl champion just days after placing him on waivers. An impressive pre-season from Shane Buechele wasn’t enough to initially convince head coach Joe Brady, with Kyle Allen winning the Bills back-up job. Kyle Allen will serve as Josh Allen’s back up for Buffalo in 2026 Getty Buffalo trimmed down the roster to 53 ahead of Week 1 against the Houston Texans , placing Buechele on waivers in the process. However, The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia reports that Buechele signed back with the Bills to their practice squad after clearing waivers.
