5,000 old mattresses: City of Boston employees brace for 'Allston Christmas'

Many of the approximately 150,000 university students attending the city's 36 colleges will be moving into new apartments as leases turn over, leaving behind unwanted furniture across the streets of the neighborhood. That means a whole lot of work for city employees.
