Shooting under investigation at strip mall near Interstate 65 in NW Indiana

Police from multiple departments are investigating a reported shooting at a strip mall near Interstate 65 in northwest Indiana. According to a statement from Indiana State Police, troopers responded to a mall near Interstate 65 along State Route 2 on Saturday night for a shooting. Lake County Sheriff’s deputies are also on the scene and are taking the lead on the investigation, according to officials. It is not known at this time how many individuals were hit by gunfire, with state police saying the scene is secure and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. DW’s Junction 2-65, a country music venue and bar in the area, told customers on its Facebook page not to come down to the establishment , saying they were on lockdown pending the outcome of the investigation.
