Garland Police Department is asking for the public’s help after a 12-year-old boy was left with significant injuries following a hit-and-run crash According to GPD, the crash happened at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Saturday when the 12-year-old was crossing the street at the intersection of North Garland Avenue and Apollo Road in the crosswalk with his electric scooter when he was struck by a white utility-style work truck. The 12-year-old is in stable condition but sustained significant injuries. Police describe the truck as having four doors with storage compartments along the sides of the bed. The driver was possibly a heavy-set man, with a short “buzz cut” style haircut, police said. The driver briefly stopped following the crash but then left the scene, traveling southbound on North Garland Avenue.
