Angels place Nolan Schanuel, Wade Meckler on injured list

The Los Angeles Angels placed first baseman Nolan Schanuel on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with a right intercostal muscle strain and outfielder Wade Meckler on the seven-day concussion list, both retroactive to Friday. “I think it was something that he’s kind of been dealing with a little bit, and it just got to a point where it wasn’t feeling great," manager Kurt Suzuki said of Schanuel. Meckler was hit near the right ear by a 90.6 mph sinker from Astros left-hander Bryan King.
