A 68-year-old man was killed and two other people were hurt after a Tesla ran off the road and crossed the median on State Highway 55 in Vineland, Cumberland County , on Saturday morning, the New Jersey State Police said. The crash happened at around 8:31 a.m. near milepost 34.6, according to police. There, a Tesla traveling southbound on State Highway 55 when its driver lost control and ran through the grass median into the northbound lanes, police said. The Tesla crashed into a Chevrolet SUV and killed the driver, who has been identified as 68-year-old Phillip Eastman, of Springfield, Pa., police said. The driver of the Tesla and a passenger in the Chevy were also injured and were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, police said. Their identities have not been released. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
