A former University of Miami professor and doctor has been arrested on sexual battery charges after he was accused of performing unnecessary intimate medical procedures on students and employees. Ranjith Ramasamy, 45, was arrested on three counts of sexual battery, Miami-Dade jail records showed. Ramasamy had been living in Dubai but had agreed to come to South Florida to surrender following an investigation by Miami Police, court records showed. According to an arrest warrant, Ramasamy is a urologist and expert in sexual medicine, male infertility and reproductive medicine and surgery. He had been employed at the University of Miami as director of Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, assistant professor of urology and then associate professor of urology, but since 2024, he’s been a consultant urologist at the Jumeirah American Clinic in Dubai, the warrant said. The warrant said multiple former male students, fellows and trainees came forward accusing Ramasamy of using his position
