Bulgaria Wins Silver and Bronze at 2026 European Weightlifting Youth & U15 Championships

The Bulgarian national weightlifting team began its participation at the 2026 European Youth & U15 Championships in Pristina, Kosovo, with two medals. Both were for Beloslava Koleva in the under-45 kg category among the younger competitors. The athlete, coached by Zhivko Nikolov of Titan Varna club, lifted a total of 117 kg: 54 kg in the snatch and 63 kg in the clean and jerk. She won bronze in the total and silver in the snatch. Ercin Şahin of Turkiye became champion with a total of 144 kg (65+79), ahead of Russian lifter Arina Bublas with 123 kg (51+72). Earlier, Angela Yordanova finished sixth in the girls' under-15 under-41 kg category. Later on Thursday, Aleksandra Nikolova will also take to the platform in the girls' under-17 under-49 kg category. A total of 14 promising weightlifters are representing Bulgaria at the championships.
