A deadly motorcycle crash shut down parts of DuSable Lake Shore Drive Thursday morning, with both the north and southbound sides blocked for hours and debris strewn across the road. About 11:30 p.m., a 25-year-old woman was driving a grey sedan in the southbound lanes of DuSable Lake Shore Drive near Grant Park when she struck a motorcycle rider in the same direction. The driver of the motorcycle, a 49-year-old woman, was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead, Chicago police said. The driver of the sedan, who was not injured, was taken into custody, with charges and citations pending. Photos and video from the scene showed debris blocking both the north and southbound sides of DuSable Lake Shore Drive near The Field Museum, with a motorcycle lying on its side in the middle of the lanes as police worked to clear it.
