I’m an Alaska resident who, like many of us, is registered nonpartisan. I don’t vote for a party; I vote for a person. If I don’t know who someone is, they won’t get my vote, no matter their party affiliation. So, I ask you: What’s more important, a candidate’s party registration or their state of residency? To me, the answer is the latter. I would like to see the Alaska Division of Elections come up with a way to let voters know who on the ballot is not an Alaska resident and spend less time worrying about whether a registered Republican is really a Republican. — Bonnie Marie Hepburn , Anchorage Have something on your mind?
