Man hospitalized after being struck as over 20 shots fired in Nicetown shooting

A man has been hospitalized overnight after, police said, he was injured in a hail of gunfire that happened in Philly’s Nicetown section. According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, officers responded to the intersection of 18th Street and Erie Avenue just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday to find a man, believed to be in his mid-twenties, who had been shot in the arm. Further information can be found here. At the scene, he said, investigators found gunfire had struck at least two vehicles at the intersection and about 20 spent shell casings were recovered. However, no motive was immediately determined in this incident and no weapons were recovered, Small said. Also, he said, the victim in this incident was not cooperating with the ongoing investigation into the shooting. As of ab
