Man hospitalized after being struck as over 20 shots fired in Nicetown shooting

A man has been hospitalized overnight after, police said, he was injured in a hail of gunfire that happened in Philly’s Nicetown section. According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, officers responded to the intersection of 18th Street and Erie Avenue just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday to find a man, believed to be in his mid-twenties, who had been shot in the arm. This man, Small said, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition. There are additional resources for people or communities that have endured gun violence in Philadelphia. However, no motive was immediately determined in this incident and no weapons were recovered, Small said.
