HK's annual Cyclothon to feature new 56km route

Hong Kong's annual cyclothon is set to return on October 11th, with its signature 50km non-race ride to be extended to 56 kilometres on a new five-tunnel, three-bridge course. The new route also features the Central Kowloon Bypass that connects Yau Ma Tei and Lam Tin. The other main non-race route that spans 32 kilometres will continue to be held at its two-tunnel, two-bridge course. Speaking at a press conference, Peter Lam, chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), noted that the event has become a much-anticipated international sports event that presents cyclists a chance to take in the diverse and unique landscape of the SAR. "I sincerely invite all of you to actively participate. The routes are available only during the once-a-year Hong Kong Cyclothon," he told reporters.
