A funnel cloud was seen over Delaware on Tuesday afternoon. The National Weather Service were able to confirm that the small funnel cloud formed over New Castle County on Aug. 18 around 3:35 p.m. after receiving some photos and videos. The NBC10 First Alert Weather team explained that a funnel cloud is formed from air going in different directions and has a low level of spin. Air below the funnel was too dry to produce rain underneath it. Viewers shared their photos of the funnel cloud with us at NBC10.
