A man accused of stealing a car from a dealership in Pembroke Pines, driving to his mother’s house and firing shots was arrested on Monday, authorities said. Khalil Smith, 29, is facing several charges, including carjacking and premediated attempted murder. During his court appearance on Tuesday, a judge denied Smith’s bond. According to Pembroke Pines Police, officers arrived at BMW of Pembroke Pines, where a victim said he was carjacked. An arrest report said that Smith arrived at the dealership and asked about a BMW, expressing that he was interested in buying it. Smith was told he could go inside the car, but needed to give his ID, and when Smith gave it and sat in the car, he asked for the key, the report said. When Smith got the key, he punched the dealer in the abdomen and told the dealer to get back. The dealer, the report said, got out of the car, and Smith drove out of the showroom.
