19 hurt, including 5 firefighters, in MTA bus vs. FDNY truck collision

Five firefighters and 14 civilians were taken to hospitals after a dramatic collision involving an MTA bus and an FDNY fire truck in the Bronx on Tuesday, officials say. Emergency personnel got a call around 12:30 p.m. about the accident near Southern Boulevard and Barretto Street. Photos from the scene showed the front bus windshield smashed opposite the driver’s side. People were also seen being removed on stretchers. No information was immediately provided on the condition of those injured or the nature of their injuries. The investigation is ongoing. This was the scene after the bus crash.
