Democrats Demand Agencies Stop Sharing Medicaid Data With ICE

Some top Democratic senators in a Monday letter called on the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Homeland Security to stop sharing Medicaid data with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and ICE agreed in July 2025 to grant immigration enforcement officials access to Medicaid enrollees’ personal data, such as immigration status and addresses — although a federal court later restricted the kind of information CMS coul
