Three dead after head-on crash involving wrong-way driver on Airport Freeway in Fort Worth

Three people were killed and two others were hospitalized after a wrong-way driver caused a series of crashes early Tuesday on State Highway 121 in Fort Worth, according to police. Fort Worth officers responded around 1:20 a.m. to a crash reported near Airport Freeway and North Riverside Drive. Investigators said a Jeep carrying one adult driver was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 121 when it first struck a vehicle carrying three occupants. Police said evidence collected at the scene indicates the three people attempted to move out of the way but were still struck on the rear driver’s side of their vehicle. Police said none of those crash victims suffered major injuries. The Jeep continued traveling the wrong way before colliding head-on with a four-door sedan carrying four people, including three adults and one child.
