A racist confrontation caught on camera in Antioch has gone viral, prompting an investigation into both the original incident and an explosive device later thrown at a home in the neighborhood. The video shows a man repeatedly calling a Black woman the N-word last month. The woman, who asked that her identity not be revealed because she no longer feels safe in her own neighborhood, recorded the encounter. “In my area I’m the youngest African-American there … I bought my home as 35th birthday gift to myself … so why do I have to live like this?” she said. The woman says tensions with the man date back to January when they went to court over what she describes as too many cats at his family’s home. “I went to court with them in January … they’ve taken over my backyard … cat feces and everything,” she said.
