Extreme Heat Warning In Place for Almost Entire Country on Thursday

A yellow warning for dangerously hot weather has been issued on Thursday for almost the entire country, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) said. The warning is in effect for regions in Southern and Western Bulgaria, as well as parts of Northern Bulgaria. According to NIMH, a yellow warning indicates the beginning of a period with maximum temperatures above 35°C. In some places, temperatures may reach 37–38°C. The only regions excluded from the hot weather warning are Burgas, Varna, Dobrich, and small parts of Sliven, Montana, Vidin, Sofia Province, Pazardzhik, and Blagoevgrad. Thursday's maximum temperatures will range between 33°C and 38°C, with temperatures in Sofia expected to reach around 34°C. The hot weather is expected to persist through Friday.
