Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars agree to stay at AAC through 2030-31 season
nbcdfw.com · 7h · first report

The Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars announced they had reached an agreement about the control of the American Airlines Center on Monday. In a statement, the Dallas Mavericks said the American Airlines Center will serve as the home of both teams at least through the 2030-31 season. In May, the teams were involved in a high-profile legal battle over the AAC that did not go to trial in Texas Business Court after the Mavericks defeated the Stars in every significant pretrial ruling. Both teams had recently announced plans to move away from Downtown Dallas once their contracts with the AAC were up. The Stars are working with Plano to build a new stadium and expand the city’s entertainment district. The Mavs entered into option agreements for the potential purchase of approximately 104 acres at the former Valley View Mall site .
