Body recovered from San Francisco Bay near Ferry Building

An investigation is underway after a body was recovered from the San Francisco Bay near the Ferry Building Sunday evening, according to the San Francisco Fire Department. Firefighters responded at about 7:37 p.m. to a report of a possible bay rescue near the Ferry Building and searched the area. Crews located a body and transported it to Pier 22½, fire officials said. The body was turned over to the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. No additional details were immediately available.
