The teenage lifeguard who saved a young swimmer at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz in July will meet with President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday. Ryder Williams, the 16-year-old lifeguard who rushed into the water to save a 10-year-old child who was overwhelmed by wave after wave last month, will meet President Donald Trump on Monday afternoon at the Oval Office, according to the official White House schedule. The rescue was caught on a video that was watched by millions, including Trump. Trump called the young man “heroic” and said he had plans to invite him and his family to the White House to receive a high civilian honor. “We’re going to bring this heroic young man, and his family, into the White House with, perhaps, the boy he saved, to give him a High Civilian Honor,” Trump said in a post on social media. “Very brave, he deserves it!” Santa Cruz Aug 4 Boy doesn't remember dramatic rescue by lifeguard from pounding Santa Cruz surf Santa Cruz Aug 2 16-year-old lifeguard
