bta.bg · 2h

Bulgaria's Nikolay Nachev snagged the bronze in the Masters category (for ages 55-59) of the 2026 UEC MTB Downhill European Championships on Vitosha Mountain's Vitoshko Lale track. The competition brought to Bulgaria over 300 of the best mountain bikers from 26 countries in more than 30 international teams from August 14 to 16. The event was organized by the Bulgarian Cycling Federation and the European Cycling Union (UEC), with the support of the Youth and Sports Ministry, the Sofia - European Capital of Sport Foundation, and the hosts from Vitosha Ski. The Vitoshko Lale track, with a length of 1,820 metres and denivelation of 403 metres, offered fast and technical sections, and the rocky sections in the middle of the track put the participants' preparation to a serious test. Anyone wishing to try the track can do so using the Vitoshko Lale 1 and 2 lifts on weekends until the end of September.
