New curfew in effect for anyone under the age of 18 in Cape May

Cape May is now enforcing a new curfew for anyone under the age of 18 after the town’s council voted for the ordinance on Thursday, Aug. 13. In a social media post, the Cape May Police Department broke down the specifics of the curfew that is in effect for residents and visitors alike. Beach curfew at 8 p.m. Anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed on Cape May’s beaches starting at 8 p.m. unless they are with an adult. Bag restrictions take effect Starting at 8 p.m., no one is allowed to carry a bag that is larger than eight inches in height, width or depth. This is in effect for all public areas, including the beach and Cape May’s promenade. Some exceptions include: Medical devices or medical supply bags City-wide curfew at 10 p.m. Anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed in public spaces within Cape May starting at 10:30 p.m. unless they are with an adult.
