Arkansas Postcard Past: Malvern in 1936

Malvern, 1936: President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his wife, Eleanor, came to Arkansas to mark the 100th birthday of the state, at the behest of Congressman John L. McClellan. He and Eleanor paraded down Main Street in his open-topped Packard before an estimated crowd of 10,000, the largest in Malvern's history.
