Two Nominations for National Health Insurance Fund Governor, One for Deputy, as Deadline for Submitting Nominations Expires

Dr Vladimir Vasev Daskalov and Stanimir Mihaylov have been nominated for the post of Governor of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) by the Progressive Bulgaria and the Continue the Change parliamentary groups, respectively. Zdravko Shushkov has been nominated for the post of Deputy Governor of the NHIF by the Progressive Bulgaria parliamentary group. The nominations have been published on the National Assembly’s website. The deadline for submitting nominations expired on 12 August. On July 29, the National Assembly adopted the procedural rules regarding the conditions and procedure for the nomination and election of candidates for the two posts. Nominations were to be made by parliamentary groups in writing via the National Assembly Chair to the Health Committee. The candidate's written consent to be nominated for the post was also required. Candidates are subject to a vetting process for any links to the former State Security or the intelligence services of the Bulgarian People
