How to watch Philly police update on Olney ‘mystery house' Wednesday

Officials with the Philadelphia Police Department are providing more information about the investigation surrounding a “mystery house” in the Olney neighborhood. The press conference is scheduled to happen at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12 and will be streaming live in this article. A multi-agency investigation was launched after a search warrant was issued for a home on the 400 block of West Chew Avenue that led to the discovery of at least one firearm, ammunition, narcotics and several chemicals, officials had previously said. This was came about after a park ranger looked into a disturbance between a man, identified as 44-year-old Eugene Horsch, and a woman who were sitting inside a parked car on the 600 block of Market Street near Independence Mall on June 19, 2026. Officials said the park ranger found credentials on Horsch that showed to be a federal law enforcement officer and a DEA officer. Those credentials were later determined to be false. Horsch was then detained, police said.
