Parents charged with manslaughter in death of 2-month-old son in New Jersey

The parents of a 2-month-old boy were indicted in connection to his death in New Jersey, the local prosecutor’s office announced Wednesday. Jason Megaro, 27, and of Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, and Jenae Vasquez, 20, of The Bronx, were arrested Tuesday and are facing charges of first-degree aggravated manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office. On March 25, the Bayonne Police Department was notified that an injured 2-month-old boy was brought to Bayonne Medical Center, prosecutors said. The baby was transferred to University Hospital in Newark and was pronounced dead the following day. The Regional Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be complications from blunt force injuries to the head and the manner of death to be homicide, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said. Other details pertaining to the circumstances surrounding the baby’s injuries and death were not made public. The pair was arrested in Mount Carm
