Transit Police report a 12-year-old got up on top of a Red Line train at JFK/UMass and was "surfing" until he fell off in the tunnel near Andrew station shortly before 1 a.m. - after which he somehow got on board a southbound train at Andrew. Police report first responders - who included Transit officers and Boston firefighters, EMTs and paramedics - found him with "a serious but non-life-threatening head injury." The incident, which follows an outbreak of train surfing on New York subway trains , remains under investigation, police say. Police Supt. Richard Sullivan said: Our thoughts and prayers are with this child, and it is our sincere hope he makes a full recovery. This incident underscores the inherent extreme danger of "Train Surfing". It could literally cost you your life. Topics: The T Neighborhoods: South Boston Free tagging: Red Line Andrew Square email print
