SEPTA launches Route 45 bus service to the Navy Yard as part of New Bus Network

For the first time in more than a decade, SEPTA will provide direct bus service between Center City and the Navy Yard in South Philadelphia, with Route 45 bus service starting on Aug. 23, 2026. The effort is part of the first phase of the mass transit provider’s New Bus Network . On Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026, SEPTA and municipal officials — joined by the Phillie Phanatic — ceremonially launched the new Route 45 service with a celebration at the Navy Yard.
