2 teens injured, including one slashed, in assault at Center City beer garden

Two teenagers were injured during an assault at a beer garden Monday night in Center City, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. Police said the incident occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m. at the beer garden located at 1500 JFK Boulevard. According to officials, three juveniles chased another teen into the beer garden and began punching and kicking him. Bystanders told police the victim pulled out a knife and slashed one of the boys in the leg. Police said a bystander then intervened and separated the group. A 15-year-old boy was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for minor injuries he sustained during the assault. A 13-year-old boy was treated at Jefferson Hospital for a slash wound to the leg, officials said. The investigation is ongoing.
